The house was built in 1906 and is one of the best preserved examples of Beaux-Arts Colonial Revival-Style homes in the United States open to the public. Mamie McFaddin Ward lived in the house for 75 years until her death in 1982.
One of the few house museums in which the collection is intact and original to the house. House museums lose their contents through inheritance, foreclosure, donations or updating. Not us! See where Mrs. Ward used her beautiful things.
A highly-trained and devoted volunteer-docent who escort small groups through the house, adapting the tour to match the interests of the group.
Be sure to call for a tour appointment time to avoid disappointment. Tours at 10am, 11am, 1:30pm, 2:30pm
Open Tuesday thru Sunday. Children must be 8 years old to tour.
